Alan Sockloff: Photographer Kitchen Creek Gallery Ricketts Glen State Park lies mostly in Luzerne County and is about 30 miles west of Wilkes Barre. Two branches of Kitchen Creek traverse this park, descending approximately 2,500 feet through a series of 22 named waterfalls, the tallest of which is 94 feet. Hiking trails alongside the creek allow access to most views worth capturing on film. Because of the some steep drops, the time of year, and drought conditions, the water flows of Kitchen Creek offer not only waterfall images, but also interesting water patterns.
